On December 20th, Pilsen Neighbors together with our partner President David Sanders from Malcolm X College, hosted a meeting in our office with State Senator Celina Villanueva.
The topics of the conversation were the different immigration campaigns led by PNCC, such as the TVDL campaign, where the goal is to make the TVDL a standard driver’s license in the state of Illinois. The new Leadership Development Institute was also discussed with the State Senator.
The housing situation for the newcomers who arrived in the recent months to the city of Chicago was another subject of discussion.
In addition, the different environmental issues affecting our community, the city of Chicago, and the state of Illinois, were also discussed with the State Senator, together with many other issues such as the violence in Pilsen, and the Pilsen property taxes.
PNCC’s community work does not stop during the holidays and we will continue working for the improvement of our community!
