Guadalupe A. Reyes Fiesta del Sol Scholarship
The Guadalupe A. Reyes Fiesta del Sol Scholarship Program awards scholarships to students from the Chicago area. Through this scholarship, we can provide students an opportunity to exercise leadership skills, learn relationship building, and teamwork.
Academy of Parents in Leadership
This program emphasizes the core competency areas:
- Leadership
- Education Policy
- Civic Engagement
- Education about emerging issues in immigrant communities
- Cultural Education Integration
Pilsen Education Task Force
The PETF is composed of area grammar school and high school administration, university representatives, parents, and other Pilsen organizations. The PETF is working on issues that concern the community on all grade levels. Every October, the PETF (consisting of GMC) holds an Education Summit every year geared towards educating parents about higher education, and on how to speak to their children about education, health, drugs, and sex education at an early age.
University Round Table
The URT is comprised of representatives from institutions of post-secondary education and college-access advocates located in the Chicago metropolitan area and in Illinois. Its mission is to provide necessary resources for underrepresented students with a focus on successful recruitment, college access and affordability, retention, and college completion.
