The mission of PNCC is to organize, engage and activate people and resources to positively address community issues facing the Pilsen neighborhood—especially in the areas of education, housing, social justice and immigration reform.
While PNCC is based in the Pilsen neighborhood (Chicago’s near west side), its work also reaches the southwest side of Chicago and engages the broader immigrant and underrepresented communities in the region.
PNCC offers multiple programs including:
Leadership training and development through the “Leadership Development Institute” which aims to invest in developing new community leaders.
Educational programs such as the “Academy of Parents in Leadership,” the “Pilsen Education Task Force".
Scholarships like the “Guadalupe A. Reyes Fiesta del Sol Scholarship Program.
Immigration and expungement assistance such as driver’s license reinstatement, cannabis expungement, and advocacy campaigns.
Community involvement events: e.g., the youth/adult organizing table “Fuerza del Sol,” community festivals (like the flagship event Fiesta del Sol) and movement-building events.
Individuals can get involved by filling out interest forms (for education, community events, trainings) as listed on PNCC’s website.
PNCC is a nonprofit organization (501(c)(3)) with revenue from grants, contributions, events, and fundraisers.
