We are beginning the last full week of school, so if you have not already subscribed to GoCPS to receive notices and reminders about the high school application process, make sure to visit go.cps.edu and subscribe to the site today!
There are also some important activities to look out for this week.
Current CPS Families
Between June 8 and 14, your student should receive and bring home an Activation Code (previously called PIN) letter from school. These Activation Codes will be used to create your GoCPS high school application accounts and access your student’s high school program eligibility information in August 2017. If you do not receive Activation Code letters by June 14, please call the Office of Access and Enrollment at 773-553-2060. We will send an email to the GoCPS subscribe list to remind you to activate your account this summer, so please make sure you have subscribed to the site and save this Activation Code in an easy-to-find location until August.
School counselors will also be conducting brief workshops with all 7th grade students before the end of the school year to give them an introduction to the new high school application process. Please check with your student to make sure they attend this important workshop.
For Non-CPS families applying to a Chicago Public Schools high school for the 2018-19 school year, test date registration for NMWEA MAP testing is now available. Chicago Public Schools (CPS) utilizes the Northwestern Evaluation Association Measures of Academic Progress (NWEA MAP) for the eligibility/selection process for students applying to CTE-College and Career Academies, IB High Schools, Magnet High Schools, and Military Academies; as well as to Selective Enrollment Elementary and High Schools, and other high schools with academic requirements.
