Over 400 hundred parents attended the 6th Annual Pilsen Education Summit with workshops centered around the importance of Dual Language and Bilingual Education a panel discussion, “Being Bilingual: School Perspectives” (Ser Bilingüe: Perspectivas Escolares). Our panel featured the expertise of Dr. Sonia Soltero, Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Leadership, Language and Curriculum in the College of Education at DePaul University. The panel was enriched with the perspectives of a teacher, a parent and a student who highlighted successful models and experiences in bilingual education. In this panel, the audience will also get an opportunity to ask questions of the panelists and enrich the discussion even more so.
